Why Every Day That You Do Not Create Something Is A Valuable Day Of Your Life Wasted!

“What did you do in the war, Daddy?” was the catch phrase of a half-century ago, and it was embarrassing for those that did not participate, because the war was over. It was too late, because they could not turn the clock back and change things, however much they wished that they could.

Your personal war—the one that you are fighting every day—is with life itself, and one day that will end, permanently, and it will once again be too late to make your mark.

You do not have any idea, when you wake up each morning, whether that day is going to be your last. Although age and health are obviously factors, they are not definitive, because so many young people reach the end of their war, almost before it has begun. In England recently, a 22-year old man died after completing the London Marathon, and Sir Alan Ball the 61-year old English football star of the 1960’s died before he had chance to plan a productive retirement. While in the USA, 32 young students tragically had their lives stolen, before they even entered the real battle with life.

This means that if you wish to leave your mark on the world, you have to put some sense of urgency into your life rather than simply just drifting along from day to day. You do not need to go to the extreme of treating each day as if it may be your last, because that is likely to simply encourage you to do the things you enjoy most, which is perhaps not a good idea!

What you must do, each and every day of your life, is create something. You must create something tangible, something useful, and hopefully something that will last well beyond your last days.

Your immediate reaction might be that this is beyond your capabilities and I am sure you could give me at least a dozen reasons why it is impossible. However, you are so wrong, because almost everybody can create something useful and of interest that might last for years. You do not have to be genius to create something that other people will like, enjoy, and use many times.

I can recall my mother using a colourful crocheted tea cosy every day of her life, because it was one made for her some fifty years before by her grandmother. Obviously, I never knew that old woman, but I can still recall the pride and pleasure that the gift gave to my mother. This example illustrates that you do not have to design and build a cathedral to be remembered by generations to come, but you do have to create something worthwhile. It can become a family heirloom, or an item that is recognised worldwide.

Today, spend some time thinking about your own experiences, knowledge, skills, ideas, plans, hopes, and desires and you may well be surprised at the valuable items you can create. It might be something to do with arts and crafts like painting, sculpting, writing, sewing, designing, and even gardening. Perhaps you prefer the scientific world and want to leave your mark with something practical like a toaster that cannot burn the bread, a lawn that does not require mowing, or a computer operating system that does not crash!

Past generations use to weave tapestries, build ships in bottles, and create wonderful buildings from matchsticks and a myriad of amazing and intricate thingamajigs to entertain and amuse their friends.

You have something of value to leave the world, and it may take a month, a year, or a lifetime for you to create and finish it in tangible form. However, if you do not start today and then do a little bit every day afterwards, it will never become a reality.

You owe it to yourself and to your family, to start now!

Create something that people will remember you for; it can be anything that you do well. Why, some people are only good at drinking booze and they even have a drink named after them; Tom Collins, Harvey Wallbanger, Mickey Finn, Rob Roy, Pimm’s and many more. So do not give up too easily.

This Website is a good place to start, because you can commence by writing articles about your favourite subjects and enjoy the great pleasure of seeing them published and read on the Internet. Some readers may even leave an encouraging comment that can be a seed for more ideas about your topic. You can even get many ideas about your subject by reading articles on it from other experts; start now by entering your topic in the search box.

Start now, and do not stop, because every day that you do not create something is a valuable day of your life wasted!
